Modern Louvered Pergola for Patio Shade and Weather Protection in Short Hills, NJ
Shade and rain protection that doesn’t compromise the look of the patio.
Project Overview: A Modern White Pergola X for Patio Shade
These clients didn’t want to sacrifice the look of their outdoor patio to get the shade and weather protection they needed. The adjustable louvers let in sunlight when they want it and shield the patio from rain when they don’t. The pergola is powder-coated aluminum and comes in a range of colors, which made it easy to match the design of the home.

The Goal: Shade and Shelter Without Changing the Look
The homeowners wanted relief from the sun and a way to use the patio in the rain, but not at the expense of the home’s design.

What We Built: A White StruXure Pergola with Pivot Louvers
A white Pergola X with Pivot louvers now covers the patio. The clean lines and the white frame and louvers sit comfortably with the architecture, so the pergola looks like part of the house. The louvers adjust to balance sun and shade, and close to keep out the rain.

The Result: A Patio You Can Use in Sun and Rain
The pergola found the balance the family wanted: sunlight when they want it, protection when they need it, and a patio that still looks like theirs.
