Installing Custom-Built Majestic Awnings since 1994
Custom Motorized Retractable Awnings for Patios and Decks
Shade your patio, deck, or restaurant seating area with a retractable awning built to your measurements and expertly installed by Majestic Outdoor.
Motorized Retractable Awnings for Patio and Deck Shade
Our Majestic retractable awnings turn an unused patio or deck into a space you’ll want to be in. A custom patio awning gives you sun protection that keeps you cool and comfortable, and you choose the fabric colors and patterns, frame color, and add-ons.
Shade and Protect Your Space with a Motorized Retractable Awning
At Majestic Outdoor, we build every awning from scratch to fit your space, and with a motorized retractable awning you get sun or shade when your family wants it, at the push of a button.
Extend for Shade, Retract for Sun
Press a button and the awning opens over your patio. Press again and it tucks away, so you decide how much sun you get, and you spend more time outside on warm days.
UV Protection for Your Patio or Deck
A retractable awning cuts glare and blocks the sun’s UV rays, so your seating area stays comfortable. It also helps protect your furniture and deck from the sun.
Standard, Semi-Cassette, and Full-Cassette Retractable Awnings
We custom build various types of motorized retractable awnings. The difference is in how much of the awning is protected from the weather and how much fabric shows when it’s closed.
-

Standard Retractable Awnings
When closed, the fabric on the roll and the valance are both visible. It’s the classic look, and you can add a hood to protect the fabric from the weather.
-

Semi-Cassette Awnings
When closed, the fabric is enclosed in a cassette, and the valance still shows. You get more protection for the fabric and a finished look.
-

Full-Cassette Awnings
When closed, the fabric and hardware is fully enclosed and there’s no valance, so no fabric shows. It’s the cleanest look, and it gives the most protection.

Custom Retractable Awning Sizes: Width and Projection
Every awning is built to order, so we can make one anywhere from 7 to 40 feet wide. Projection sizes are 5'3", 6'1", 8'6", 10'2", 11'6", 13'4", and 15'10".
If your awning is mounted high on the wall, you may need a longer arm projection. As a retractable awning pitches downward, it loses depth as it unfolds, so you may need a larger awning to get the coverage you’re picturing. We’ll help you size it during the initial consultation.
Retractable Awning Fabrics, Frame Colors, and Valances
-
Our selection of retractable awning fabrics include Sunbrella, Recasens, and Tempotest options, which use acrylic fabric in a wide range of colors and patterns, to go with your home’s exterior.
-
Our available frame colors choices include black, bronze, sand, and white.
-
Add a valance for a finishing touch. We offer six styles, in straight, wavy, and scalloped shapes.

Retractable Awning Add-Ons
Design your outdoor shade experience by selecting add-ons complement your summer lifestyle and will extend your time on your deck or patio.
-

Hood
Goes over the top of a standard awning and protects the fabric from the weather when it’s closed.
-

Wind Sensor
A wireless, battery-powered retractable awning wind sensor that retracts the awning on its own when it picks up wind-generated movement. Compatible with the RTS remote motor only.
-

LED Lights
Dimmable LED lights on the awning arms for evenings outside. Compatible with the RTS remote motor only.
-

Drop Valance
Adds privacy, shade, and protection. A drop valance rolls down 4 feet and includes a manual hand crank for the front bar.
-

Semi-Cassette or Full-Cassette
Enclose the awning completely for more protection from the weather when it’s closed.
Retractable Awning Mounting Options and Motorized Controls
-
We install retractable awnings on a wall, soffit, or roof. If something’s in the way, like a light fixture, window, or chimney, a roof mount is an easy fix. We need at least 8 inches of unobstructed space for the mount, and because an awning projects at a downward slope, it needs to go high enough, generally at least 8 to 11 feet up.
-
Every awning has a built-in manual override, and the mounting height determines the hand crank size, which comes in standard or long.
Standard motor: Wired to a toggle or paddle switch, the switch can go inside or outside your home, and requires an electrician to handle the wiring.
Remote (RTS) motor: Plugs into a standard outlet with no wiring. It comes with a handheld remote or a Decora wireless wall switch.
Commercial Retractable Awnings for Restaurants and Outdoor Dining
Our retractable awnings work for businesses too. A restaurant retractable awning over an outdoor dining area gives guests shade and adds usable seating space. We can add graphics or lettering to the valance, such as your business name or building number, so your awning works as signage.
Retractable Awning Warranty
Majestic Awnings come with a 10-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Weather damage isn’t covered, so it’s recommended to retract your awning in strong wind, heavy rain, or snow.

Retractable Awning FAQs
Cost, sizing, wiring, rain, and warranty are what people ask about most before they order a retractable awning. You’ll find all of them answered below.
-
It depends on the awning type, size, fabric, motor, and add-ons. We measure your space, talk through what you want, and give you a free quote.
-
It’s about what shows when the awning is closed. A standard awning shows the fabric on the roll and the valance. A semi-cassette encloses the fabric, but the valance still shows. A full cassette encloses everything, so no fabric shows.
-
We custom build our retractable awnings anywhere from 7 to 40 feet wide, with projections from 5'3" to 15'10".
-
Only for the standard motor, which is wired to a switch. The remote motor plugs into an outlet and needs no wiring.
-
A single-pole, double-throw, three-way rocker switch. You can buy one from us or from your electrician. Using a different kind will void your warranty.
-
Light rain is fine as long as the awning has enough pitch for water to run off and not pool on the fabric. Pooling is more of a problem on larger awnings, so we don’t recommend using awnings over 20 feet wide in the rain. The fabric is water-resistant, not waterproof, and some water may come through the seams.
-
Yes, bent arms keep tension on the fabric. If they straighten all the way, they lock and you can’t bring the awning back in.
-
Every awning is set at its furthest extension in our shop when it’s built, and the extra fabric is there to finish the look.
-
Yes, every awning has a built-in manual override and you will receive a hand crank at installation.
-
A 10-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. See our Warranties page for details.
